A collection of MIT students, continuously overflooded with problem sets, essays, exams, interviews, research... and suddenly, before we know it:
We're on SPRING BREAK!?
This weeklong vacation could not have come at a more opportune moment. We are ready to de-stress and explore. So, Abu Dhabi, beware. We ARE powerful. We CAN do anything. NOTHING can stop us.
That is, except for the flight to London. As a member of the evening flight trip, I had the chance to observe us adventurous students who can stay up until sunrise to finish homework, only to wake up one hour later and take an exam, only to once again stay up until sunrise, only to once again take an exam after an hour of sleep... I had the chance to observe many of us completely pass out while watching movies like The Twilight Saga: New Moon.. No comments there. :)
True, after a two-hour-long wait at the gate at Logan Airport in Boston (since we definitely knew how to handle security checks with competence), the British Airways aircraft seemed to have many surprises in store for us at first. There were the navy blue socks, navy blue eyeshades, black portable toothbrush&toothpaste, black headphones, and navy blue [rather sleep-unfriendly] seats, not to mention the intriguing video on emergency procedures using animated figures that seemed to mimic the slender, beautiful, & extremely tall Na'vi people from James Cameron's 2009 blockbuster Avatar.
As of now, we are sitting with the rest of our fellow Terrascopers at Heathrow Airport, anxiously awaiting what is in store for us in the exotic city of Abu Dhabi... Though I believe it will not be too long after our arrival at our hotel that most of us will have quickly fallen asleep on our beds (which will undoubtedly serve for much more comfortable sleep than any of the beds in our dorms).
